Camp Like A Girl – West Virginia May 12-15,2016

We’re doing it again! We’re “camping like girls” at Blackwater Falls State Park in West Virginia. This trip,’ Go Girl Go’, is for any woman who wants to be a “girl camper”. You don’t have to be in a group already and you don’t have to have a trailer. You just have to have a desire to camp with the girls!

Rhinebeck02

We will gather at Blackwater Falls State Park on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Thursday night we will gather for a light meal in the Pavillion and do a meet and greet. On Friday there will be a coffee station in the morning and everyone will head out from there to do whatever it is that you want to do. Kayak, hike, use the bike trail, horseback ride, zip line, hit the antique markets and restaurants in Davis or neighboring Elkins, WV. When we gather back together on Friday evening we will refresh and meet at a starting point and do a trailer tour before heading to the Pavillion for a pot luck dinner. On Saturday morning we will hit the coffee station again and head out for the days adventures. On Saturday evening we will have our themed party, “Do You Like My Hat?” Everyone wears jeans and a white shirt with a crazy hat!! We will also have a tricky tray with the proceeds going to the Holdyou Foundation which gives assistance to families with chronically ill children. Bring your gently loved ‘campertastic’ girl camper items to donate or add any of your own creations to add to the tables. On Sunday morning there will be coffee and send offs to those that have to leave. Early birds and late stayers are welcome!

Rhinebeck-2B32

Also, there will be a camera crew there the whole time filming all of our girl camper fun! A media company that creates programming about travel and the RV world has asked if they could follow me on some of my adventures this summer. I said, “Yes, but know this! If you’re looking for cat fights you’re meowing up the wrong tree!” This is Girl Camping fun. They are actually looking for women ‘going places and doing things’ and challenging themselves and that is us!!

In order to sign up for this trip you must first join  the meet up group Camp Like a Girl.  http://www.meetup.com/Camp-Like-A-Girl/ The information to sign up for the trip is on that site. Once you have registered through the meet up site you can call the park and make your reservations. We chose this park of all the wonderful places in “Wild, Wonderful, Almost Heaven, West by God, Virginia” because they have 31 sites with electric and water as well as cabins and a Lodge! If you want to join the fun but don’t have a trailer and can’t do a tent, there are options!! There are no excuses to not Camp Like a Girl!! Grab a girlfriend and get camping!!
