Tiny towables, sometimes referred to as “beds on wheels,” are not just small RVs, but really small trailers you can tow with almost any car. In fact, some of these are designed to be towed by a motorcycle! To make our list, they had to be towable by something like a compact SUV or car and most of these even fit into the garage when not in full camper mode. These are all pretty small, but some of the folding models offer a surprising amount of space. We’ve listed them in order of size.
Time Out Trailers
Time Out Trailers are very, very small, foldable trailers that are a step above tent camping in many ways – true beds on wheels. There is a proper queen-sized mattress (provided you bring your inflator or have strong lungs) and even a table inside. You sit on the bed and that’s the seating for the table. There is even access for an air conditioner if you want to get really fancy. Essentially Time Out Trailers are folding tent trailers that shrink down to fit in a shape so small you could tow it with a capable motorcycle. There is a screen room upgrade, which can actually make this into a rather spacious set up.

Kompact Kamp
The Kompact Kamp is small enough that it can also be towed by a motorcycle. At just 260 pounds, it’s so light you could literally push it into any spot you’d like to camp and never think about having to back up again. This fiberglass Houdini features 6’4” of headroom when it’s set up for camp and the transition only takes about two minutes. To transform this vehicle from road-ready to camp-ready, you put down two of the four stabilizers, unhook it from the tow vehicle, put down the other two stabilizers, put a support bar in place and flip the top over 180 degrees. That reveals a tent which then needs just a few poles to be pushed into place and you’re ready to camp. Simple. Add-ons include an attachable “room” and an awning,

Runaway Campers Venturist
Unlike many RV company products, Runaway Campers are very, very simple and straightforward. You might almost call them a blank canvas for what they offer. Essentially, the Venturist is a box on wheels. Suited to the off-road enthusiast, the V-Series offers a simple 4×8 or 6×8 shell into which you put what suits your camping style. It has a window-style air conditioner built into the front, but not much else. This way you can bring bedding or any other items that complete your camping needs. The advantage of starting with a blank slate is that you’re not donating a bunch of stuff that you’ve paid for to charities before you can even make the camper your own.

Little Guy MyPod
The Little Guy MyPod is not yet on the market at the time of publication. The MyPod is a completely enclosed fiberglass “egg.” It has a mattress, TV, air conditioner, fan and some storage. Furthermore, there’s a platform on the tongue if you want to bring a small generator. It’s really a nifty little package that may be right for campers who want ultimate tow ability, without having anything to do with folding, canvas or tents. A great add-on is a custom-designed screen room tent, which comes with a sewn-in floor and rain fly. If interested, you can sign up for a launch announcement email.
