Accepting Good Advice

“Accepting good advice means nothing other than to strengthen one’s own ability” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

When I bought my “Thor Four Winds” my first trip was to a campground in Gettysburg. My husband knew I depended on the rear view mirror and not the side mirrors when backing up my car. He warned me to get out and physically look at the site before backing up. I told him no worries I reserved a pull-through site.

When I arrived I discovered they gave my site to someone else! The elderly gentleman who guided me to where the site was said he’d guide me in. I became doubtful as I glanced in my mirror. It seemed to me I was fairly close to a tree. However, he motioned for me to continue. Suddenly I heard a crunch and scrape then his voice saying, ” Hold up, you’ on a tree!:

I finally got in place, and he returned to the office. Several campers came and told me I was the third person he backed into a tree! I learned the hard way to accept my husband’s advice as well as fellow campers who are experienced. I only wish I was aware of all the free advice and helpful hints are only a few keystrokes away!

Here are some great tips from our friends at GoRVing.
