Do & See
Shop in Style for holiday gifts in downtown Bluffton. Eggs’n’Tricities overflows with clothing; the Red Piano Art Gallery features the work of local and national artists.
Every Thursday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., farmers and artisans gather in Bluffton for one of the state’s most diverse farmers markets. There’s live music, too.
Don’t miss the crab sculptures. Scattered throughout Bluffton are 10 bronze fiddler crab sculptures, each about 8 inches big, placed in various spots on and near Calhoun Street. A new book, The Crabs on Calhoun, by Katherine Robinson, shares the sweet life story of each crab.
Eat Well
FARM Bluffton celebrates the bounty of the South at this stylish eatery helmed by Chef Brandon Carter. You can order a la carte or choose the four-course blind tasting menu with delicious surprises (full table participation is required for the tasting menu). https://www.farmbluffton.com/
Bluffton BBQ is quite possibly the best in the state, at least according to my family. We love the smokey, flavorful meats (pulled pork that melts), and all the traditional sides. The menu is posted on a board, paper towels serve as napkins and the tea is sweet. This is a bbq joint (not a restaurant, as they are proud to tell you) and their love for making good barbecue shines. https://destination-bbq.com/stores/blufton-bbq/
Camp: Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort
Our favorite place to camp in the Lowcountry is Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort. It is expensive as campgrounds go and it does not offer tent camping, two limitations that may make it less than ideal for many families. However, if you have a camper or motorized RV, it is quite possibly the most relaxing and scenic campground this close to Hilton Head Island’s attractions, shopping, dining, beaches, and more.
Hilton Head Harbor is considered a luxury RV Resort and Marina located on the north end of Hilton Head Island. With waterside campsites, this pet friendly resort offers landscaped sites with concrete pads, excellent dining in the onsite restaurant, top-notch amenities, on-site water sports activities and more.
