Hi, I’m Robin Cramer – Proud Hostess for Girl Camper Arizona

I’ve been part of Girl Camper for two years now, and I’m proud to serve as a Girl Camper Arizona Hostess. I’ve made some amazing friends through this community, and I’m excited to host a few fun events each year—nothing too crazy, just good times with great women who love to camp.

From Tent Camping to Travel Trailer Confidence

My husband and I have been married for 34 years, and we’ve been camping together since the beginning—starting in a tent. One of our first big upgrades happened on a trip to Williams, AZ. We were the only ones in a tent while our friends showed up in full-on motorhomes. Our buddy Dick mentioned a Class C for sale, and just like that, we bought it. I loved that rig! Eventually, we sold it for a 29-foot Southwind with no slides, then upgraded again to our current camper: a 2002 35-foot Holiday Rambler with two slides. That baby’s our home on wheels.

Becoming a Girl Camper Arizona Hostess has added even more meaning to our travels. I love helping other women feel confident getting out there—just like I did, starting with a tent and learning everything the hard (and funny) way.

The Shasta That Got Away and the Wolf Pup That Won My Heart

Somewhere along the way, I bought an old Shasta trailer to refurbish, but between my husband working full-time and life being life, we just didn’t get to it. I passed it on to a sweet young couple from Vegas.

In 2021, I started hunting for a used trailer, and wow—what a mission! My husband finally said, “Just get a new one.” So I did. After haunting every trailer lot in Arizona, I found my 18′ Wolf Pup by Forest River. She’s my pride and joy. I’ve learned how to hitch up, set up, and camp solo—lots of trial, plenty of error, and a whole lot of laughs. Steve has surprised me by driving out a few times to help—and I have to say, it impressed the other Girl Campers!

A Pop-Up Here, a Pop-Up There: Our Camper Collection

Over the years, we’ve picked up some fun extras—a Combi-Camp and a Sure-Camp (think pop-up trailers with beds and floors). They’re light, fast to set up, and great for quick getaways. I haul them with my car when I’m in a hurry. Do I need this many campers? Maybe not. Do I love having options? You bet.

Meet My Camping Crew: Pups, a Cat, and Sometimes My Hubby

Sometimes Steve comes with me. Sometimes I bring a friend or a family member. But I’m never really alone—I’ve got my two McNab Shepherds, Molly (8) and Sadie (2.5), and Loki the cat, who rules the road from inside the motorhome or trailer.

Creativity on the Road: Quilting, Weaving, and Solar Sewing

I’m retired now and always have a project in hand. I quilt, weave, embroider, and love bringing my creativity on the road. I even keep a sewing machine in the RV—solar-powered and ready to go! Being a Girl Camper Arizona Hostess means I get to inspire others not just to camp, but to camp their way—with hobbies, pets, and personality packed in.

Why I Love Being a Girl Camper Arizona Hostess

Camping is my happy place. The woods, the fresh air, my fur babies by my side, and something crafty in my hands… that’s the good life. Being a Hostess for Girl Camper Arizona gives me the chance to share that love with other women who are ready to start their own adventures—no matter what they’re towing.
