Located in downtown Custer, SD in the historic “bank building” , owner Cheryl Steel is one of the best makers of small batch ice cream in the Black Hills.  Named after Horatio Ross, who was a member of General Custer’s party and is credited with finding gold in the Hills, this local find uses only the freshest ingredients and their ice cream flavors change often to capture what is in season. 

Popular flavors include coffee, cookies & cream, and huckleberry.  They even offer gluten free options.

And their house made chocolate dipped, sprinkled covered waffle cones are a game changer.  Besides cones, they also offer ice cream sandwiches and if you have a hankering for a bigger helping, they sell pints of their delicious creations.
