Do you ever have trouble getting the bundle of wood you bought at the campfire burning? Chances are you need to make some smaller pieces from one of the logs and light those first. Here is a video I created this summer on how to safely chop kindling at the campground.
I always carry an axe in my camper as it can also double as a hammer which is useful for pounding in tent stakes. My preferred axe is Estwing’s 14″ Fireside Friend Axe. It’s doesn’t take up much space and it’s designed for splitting wood. You can purchase them on Amazon.
