All Louisville, Kentucky facts shared in this article came from Wikipedia, 5-2-2020.

When the Kentucky Derby was rescheduled due to Covid-19, several of the Girl Camper Guides got together for a fb live stream Kentucky Derby party to share in the weekend with many others who decided to go ahead and celebrate the Kentucky Derby on the usual Springtime date.

Each Guide chose a topic of interest to her, specific either to the Kentucky Derby, or Louisville, Kentucky. I decided to do a presentation on the Top 5 Photography Opportunity locations in Louisville. I decided to take Janine and the other Guides by surprise by presenting the information as if I was calling a horse race.

You can see my horse race presentation of the Top 5 Photo Ops here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXs-_m1ZyVc

You can watch the entire fb live replay with all the Guides who participated here: https://www.facebook.com/janine.pettit.5/videos/10158044381573444/?q=Girl%20Camper%20kentucky%20derby&epa

Here are my Top 5 Photo Op locations in Louisville:

#1: Old Louisville – built 1870’s, located in central Louisville, many restored Victorian mansions, the third largest district of its type in the USA, many brick buildings and lots of stained glass, covers 48 city blocks

#2 Churchhill Downs, the horse race track – holds up to 150,000 people, home of the Kentucky Derby, officially opened in 1875, National Historic Landmark, includes a mural and museum

#3 Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory – with a gigantic Louisville Slugger baseball bat out front, this is a must-see for baseball fans. However, if you don’t care about baseball, this baseball bat factory and museum might not be in YOUR top 5.

#4 The Speed Museum – this is the oldest and largest museum in Kentucky, it houses ancient, classical, and modern art from around the world, the building is beautiful; a $60 million expansion and renovation

#5 I wanted to call a neck-and-neck photo finish for the 5th position, so I have Louisville night life on 4th Street, and the Mehan Nature Preserve in a tie for the 5th position.

These few facts are more fun when presented as a horse race, see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXs-_m1ZyVc
