South Carolina State Parks want you to get outside and start your new year with an adventure.  On January 1, 2023, 43 locations will host a first day event such as a hike, a 5K, or a horse ride.  This is the perfect way to stretch your legs, take in some fresh air, and keep a new year resolution if it involves exercise. The park system is continuing its #StepsInSCStateParks initiative to encourage outdoor recreation and promote overall mental and physical health and wellness.  Visitors will receive a commemorative sticker while supplies last and can share their 2023 First Day Hike moments at #SCStateParks, #StepsInSCStateParks, and #FirstDayHikes on social media.
