A Delaware River Excursion …one of the many things on my unfulfilled bucket list!

I have been living in the Delaware Water Gap Region of NJ for over 40 years and have yet to get on the Delaware River.  I have kayaked in the Florida Keys and several lakes but never the Delaware River, even though I am a stone’s throw from one of the most beautiful and majestic sections of the Delaware River.

When I met my husband, we talked about taking a canoe and spending the day on the Delaware River, but alas the campground industry doesn’t offer days off in the summer unless it’s pouring rain. However, by the comments and recommendations of many of my customers, if I get the opportunity, I will use Chamberlain Canoes for a Delaware River Excursion.

Canoe, Raft and Kayak rentals on the Scenic Delaware River. They offer trips ranging from 2 hours to 3 days through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Open Daily from mid-May thru mid-October. Group rates available. Located off I-80 at exit 310.

I am originally a Jersey Girl, moved to Colorado in 1975, now living in Longmont, Colorado. I have been canoeing down the Delaware River many times when living in NJ. You should go for it.

I also used to camp as a girl with my family in New Gretna, New Jersey, off the Bass River. We had a seasonal campsite there in the summer. I have many fond memories of times spent at Chips Folly campground there.
