Hampton Bays located on the south shore of Long Island has two of my favorite hidden gems:

Sears Bellows Campground is tucked away in the Hampton Bays woods and is a serene spot to camp in. Surrounded by a lovely lake that you can kayak or rowboat on, and hiking trails throughout the park, it is a great place to relax and unwind. The staff are so sweet and helpful and the campground is always so well maintained. Hot showers, bathroom facilities and plenty of spots to park, it is the perfect place to get away from the crowds. Slo-Jacks Drive-in is right down the road from Sears Bellows and has everything from seafood, burgers, tacos, shakes you name it they most likely have it. Whenever I am camping at Sears Bellows I always ride my bike down the road and stop at Slo-Jacks for lunch or dinner. The owner and staff are so friendly and boy can they cook!
