Meet Molly a friendly orange tabby who loves to camp and belongs to my dear friend Martha Ballew. Martha has a 20ft Vibe trailer and Molly always comes along for the Spring, Fall and Winter campouts. The only thing that scares molly is the air conditioner in the summer.
Molly adopted Martha 6 years ago and Martha being a Beatles fan named her Molly Jones for the song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. A year after the adoption Martha became a widow, Molly has been a light in Martha’s life ever since.
Molly rides in the car in a dog crate in the back seat very comfortably, loves to take walks in the morning and at the campsite she will walk around on an 8-foot leash.
Molly walks are not like dog walks. Molly perks up and loves to walk in the morning exploring under the leaves and in tight spaces through the underbrush and occasional trip up a tree as far as her leash will take her, then backs down the tree on her own. For that reason, Martha will carry pepper spray just in case she runs into a predator.
Hurry up and set up Momma!
Martha keeps the litter box in the shower with a towel under it to catch litter, the fan in the bathroom helps with food and litter odors.
Molly enjoys sitting in Martha’s lap at the campfire and is a joy to watch the kitty curiosity that shows when she is outside enjoying the breeze, leaves in the trees and the sounds of the birds.
Out for a stroll. Climbing tree’s!
Martha enjoys several girl camping groups and feels blessed to have the friendships she does at this time in her life. Little did Martha know when she named Molly Jones that she would learn that yes, “Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da, life goes on, bra la-la, how the life goes on”.
