If it is MEA (Minnesota Education Association) weekend, which happens the third Thursday of October (https://educationminnesota.org/events/annual-events/mea-conference/), that means it is also Moose Madness weekend in Grand Marais, Minnesota when Murray the Moose is always on the loose. “The Moose is Loose in Grand Marais during the annual Moose Madness Family Festival! This annual event is the ultimate family-focused celebration of all things moose. Enjoy the outdoors and learn a few facts about our celebrated mascot along the way with activities, scavenger hunts, quizzes and more” (https://www.visitcookcounty.com/event/moose-madness-family-festival/182/).
Weekend Highlights
The 2023 Moose Madness weekend was a great time for adults and children! There were family activities beginning on Wednesday and lasting until Sunday. Some of the highlights of the weekend were the educational scavenger hunt, the dance at North House Folk School (https://northhouse.org/), following the moose prints on the sidewalk, and the various art activities. The autumnal colors were at their peak and enhanced the activities experience.
A Good Time Was Had By All
The weather was chilly and rainy, but that didn’t stop the fun from happening during Moose Madness weekend in Grand Marais, Minnesota! Good food was served, old friends were enjoyed, new friends were made, campfires were appreciated, and the northern lights even made an appearance.
