If you have ever been to Huber’s Winery in Bordon, Indiana you know that Produce, Pumpkins, and Pop’s Reserve is an accurate description. Located in Floyd County, Indiana Huber’s is more than just a Winery. Established in 1843 as a family business lasting seven generations of living and working on 600 acres of orchards, vineyards, and vegetable fields.

Produce Market

Huber’s has a produce market along with a U-pick program. For the U-pick you ride a wagon to the fields; pick what you want and then ride the wagon back. You then proceed to the market to pay for your fruits and vegetables. This service is offered from early spring to late fall with pumpkin season being a huge event. From September to November, they have extra food vendors and live music set up outside to accommodate the large crowds.

Next to the produce market, there is a cheese shop, ice creamery, bakery, wine, and gift shop.

Bakery

Inside the bakery they sell any flavor of bread you could think of, some are seasonal. During the Fall season, they specialize in pumpkin donuts and apple cider with my personal favorite being the apple cider slushy. Along with bakery goods, they also offer soup, cheeseball, and dip mixes.

Winery

Huber’s winemaking started in 1978 with 65 acres of vineyards. Making every variety of wine, with the most celebrated being the Pop’s Reserve. Pop’s Reserve is released once a year in Mid-November and sells out very fast, it is a red wine that can be served at room temperature or chilled.

Huber’s offers a Wine of the Month Club along with winery tours and tastings. There is a full bar and café located inside the winery with live music provided outside during the warm months. Located behind the winery is a large event center used for company parties and weddings.

For the Family

Along with the favorite family activity of pumpkin picking, there is a Family Fun Park. The park provides bamboo mazes, go-carts, a play village, wagon rides, peddle carts, duck feeding, and peddle tractors.

Dining

Along with the café in the winery, Huber’s has a sister property located 1 mile down the road offering a full-service restaurant. Huber’s Restaurant offers menu items plus a family-style dining option including Fried Chicken, Ham, Chicken Dumplings, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, and Slaw. Served along with their famous Fried Biscuits and Apple Butter.

Accommodations

Just 5 miles away you have a camping option at Deams Lake State Recreation Area and Huber’s Restaurant is a Harvest Host. If you prefer a Hotel, New Albany, IN offers all the major brands located 20 minutes away.
