On this week’s show my husband Rick joins me as we share the details of our Christmas at Cabela’s field trip. We had developed quite a wish list of camping items and we set out in search of new chairs for campfire sitting, a fire tending kit, the perfect hiking socks and a few other things. We shopped, we compared, we edited and came away with a few things we didn’t even have on the list.
We opted out of the Black Friday madness but took a field trip to Cabela’s in Newark, Delaware on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The staff there was exceptional and I give props to store manager Cornell Randolph.
We were sold on the idea of a zero gravity chair until we saw the Cabela’s club chair.
The Cabela’s club chair is very deep and extra wide. Even a 6’2″ man can sink into it. We didn’t decide on the spot but once home we agreed these are the chairs we will purchase.
I was in need of a backpack that could do double duty as a laptop carrier on a plane and after a thorough product assist from sales associate Chris I chose this one by Marmot Mountain. It has a flat rolled top in addition to a side zipper that makes it easy to put a laptop in it. I also really like the side handle in case you don’t want to carry it on your back.
This adjustable height table for use with your Dutch oven pots has been on the wish list for a while. Reducing all the bending when stirring and moving coals seems like a smart move. We thought $74 was very reasonable for the heavy duty construction and adjustable legs.
This is a little girl camper treat. The wooden wick candle for $19.95 has a pretty scent and the wooden wick creates a crackling sound when lit. My husband picked it up for me because I love anything that is red plaid.
Thanks Cornell Randolph for the great experience and knowledgeable staff at your Delaware store. We had a great day!
