Custer Bark Park

Do you camp with your four legged friend?  I love to with my dogs but I feel bad for them that they often can’t be off leash.  We live on 10 acres, so they are used to running free.  But that’s not acceptable at the campground or on the trails.  Which is OK!  A great solution….dog parks!  The Black Hills has a handful of fenced, off leash dog parks, with one of the nicest ones in Custer, SD.

Lending Stick Library

The Custer Bark Park is located just off the Michelson Trail at 1152 Washington St.  It’s one acre with 6’ fence surrounding it and has separate small and large dog areas.  Benches and a picnic shelter provide nice places to sit and enjoy watching your pooch run free.  There’s even a “stick library” where your dog can borrow a stick and return it when done, if it’s not munched down to much.  Built entirely with donations and by volunteers, it is a place of pride in the Custer community.  Check their Facebook page out.
