This park offers great hiking, beautiful views and nature walking. We have camped here many times and enjoy the hiking that is available on the Canyon Ridge Trail and the California Road Nature Trail.

I have many fond memories of taking my daughter’s Girl Scout troop here when she was young and staying in the bunkhouses. It is still one of my favorite places to visit. You will see many amazing red rock formations and have fun nature watching. You can also swim in the seasonal pool for those hot summer days.

Be sure and visit the town of Hinton that is part of Route 66. You can visit the historical museum, Route 66 Grill, Red Dirt Roadhouse and cute shops to find that perfect vintage decor for your camper!
