Janine Pettit

Growing up in a camping family Janine knew first hand the feeling of accomplishment after making camp; the satisfaction of cooking up a meal on the open fire and the inner and outer warmth of a long burning campfire. In 2015 she began sharing her knowledge and encouragement with women who wanted to get out there and ‘’go places and do things’’ in her weekly podcast.  In 2020 she launched a quarterly magazine and brought on Girl Camper Guides to host events and inspire women to go camping.  Today, Girl Camper is one of the largest outdoor women’s adventure groups in the US with over 8,200 members and chapters in 23 states.  Janine likes to say, ‘’There’s no wrong way to camp like a girl’’ and she means it.
