Growing up in Nebraska, my camping consisted of sleeping in a musty Roy Rogers canvas tent in our backyard and being envious of my BFF’s family who left on the weekends in their Winnebago motorhome.
Oh how I wanted to go with them! While we weren’t a camping family, we were an outdoor family and spent a lot of time on the banks of the Missouri River or lake fishing in Minnesota. I like to borrow a tag line Mike Rowe uses to describe myself….I have a curious mind with a short attention span. I’ve been a golf pro, a ski instructor, a PADI divemaster, an EMT, a search & rescue volunteer, a 20+ year Junior League member, an avid volunteer for breast cancer causes (raising over $1 million…so far), a pilot, and a lawyer. I’ve owned and managed several companies in the risk management and construction field.
Besides camping, I love all things outdoors 24/7…365 days a year. I’m an avid hiker, biker (both bicycle and motorcycle), fisher, diver, kayaker, cast iron cook, geocacher, off road adventurer, and international traveler. I am always up for a new adventure.
I started with Girl Camper as the South Dakota and Wyoming guide and am now the Vice President of Operations, overseeing the business operations and managing the website. I also enjoy writing for the Girl Camper Magazine, website and hosting events, especially the ones on “the wild side”!
