Fun Things To Do In Beaufort, North Carolina

Beaufort is a very cool little historical Waterfront town. It is the fourth oldest town in North Carolina.
You will find so many fun things to do in Beaufort. While you are there, be sure to stop by the visitors center and museum. You can rent bikes and ride around or book a tour of the historic district homes & graveyards that date back from the 1700’s.

You can enjoy shopping and dining on the waterfront with the many local shops. One of my favorite places is the old fashioned fudge at the Fudge Factory. You can even watch them make the fudge! Don’t forget to stop by The General Store where you will find hand dipped ice cream, Beaufort shirts and coastal souvenirs.
You can enjoy dining and having fresh seafood and listen to live music.

One of the many highlights of Beaufort is taking an Island Ferry Tour! You can choose from three tours, Carrot Island, Sand Dollar Island, and Bird Shoal. On the tours you will see beautiful landscapes and the wild horses. If you enjoy shells, you would love the tour that takes you out to Sand Dollar Island! It was an amazing tour and I cherish my sand dollars. The ferry took us out and dropped us off on the island for two hours. Be sure to pack snacks, drinks, and your sunscreen. I also would wear something that you don’t mind getting wet. Don’t forget to wear your swimsuit and bring your towel for swimming! You will get wet while hunting for your sand dollars. Be sure to bring something that you can safely store all of your shells. Sand dollars are fragile so a bucket is fine or even a plastic covered container that is easy to carry will do.
