When you are looking for a great private family campground you must check out Sycamore Springs in English, IN. I live 15 minutes from this private campground and just found out about it, so I had to do a drive by.
It has primitive camping and most of the RV sites are full hook up, plus free firewood!!! Could it get any better? With 35 Tent sites some with electricity ranging in price from $10-$30 and 64 RV sites ranging $25-$35. Sycamore Springs is a short drive to Patoka Lake.
They offer 2 restroom/ shower houses, cabins, 3 fishing ponds, hiking, 10 free shelter houses, softball field, basketball court, wedding chapel for rent, and 20 play areas including a village for kids. On some weekends they have extra activities like live music, golf cart parades and they celebrate most holiday with something special. They also book a year in advance! Reservations can be made online for camping and shelter houses. Non reserved shelter houses are free to use.
Cabins rent for a 2-day minimum for $175-$200 depending on the day. Sycamore springs is constantly adding to their campground, new cabins have been added since my visit!
They also offer a camp store onsite.
